Hello! Bonjour! Servus! Goeidag! I'm a veteran reporter and editor, a longtime foreign correspondent, and the author of two big-idea books.

I grew up in New England, studied journalism at Boston University, and lived and worked for three years in Brussels. Later, I spent more than three decades with The Associated Press; half of that as an international correspondent based in Paris, Amsterdam, and Vienna. Today, I'm an editor at Axios.
